Description
xThe XXIII. International Congress for Analytical Psychology was held in Zürich, Switzerland in 2025, the birthplace of Analytical Psychology. 2025 also celebrated the 150th anniversary of Jung's birth and drew an unprecedented number of participants from worldwide, making this Congress the largest, most vital and collegial gathering in the history of Analytical Psychology. The pertinent Congress theme Experiences of the non-Understandable certainly contributed to the large number of rich and scholarly presentations that reflected on the conflicting dilemmas that face modern life with its increasingly global complexities. The Congress enabled in-between international spaces for sitting with unknown psychic contents without necessarily trying to solve them and the Congress offered ways of exploring complex themes via a rich program of pre-congress workshops, master classes, plenary and break-out presentations and posters. The Proceedings are published in two volumes: a printed version of the plenary presentations, and an e-book with the complete material presented at the Congress. This collection of papers offers an important cross-section and insight into contemporary Jungian thought, from classical theories and perspectives to the latest scientific research.

xDaimon Verlag is a Jungian-oriented publishing house located in Einsiedeln, Switzerland and is the official publisher of the IAAP Congress Proceedings. This latest edition from the 23rd triennial Congress held in Zürich in 2025 has been edited by Jungian analyst Elizabeth Broderson.
The IAAP was founded in 1955 by a group of analysts who were close to C. G. Jung. While several groups or societies had been formed earlier, there was no international body that could oversee the growing interest in Jung's system of depth psychology, maintain standards of training and insure the ethical practice of analytical psychology. With Jung's advancing age, the establishment of the IAAP ensured the continuity that had hitherto resulted from his personal engagement. Jung's close associate, C. A. Meier, was elected to be the first president of the IAAP, and the first Congress of the Association was held in Zurich in 1958. Since its founding, the IAAP has grown to a membership of more that 3800 analysts, and recognizes 81 groups or societies throughout the world.
